THE IMPORTANCE OF PHYTOTHERAPY FOR NURSING CARE IN PRIMARY HEALTH CARE

Despite nursing, being legally supported to act with Integrative and Complementary Practices, ignorance, lack of credibility in the result and the lack of support to study the subject among health professionals, impairs a greater and better performance of nursing care in the use of medicinal plants by patients. Therefore, the general objective will be to investigate the importance of phytotherapy for nursing care in primary health care. Having specific objectives will be to raise the discipline of Phytotherapy in the curricular curricula of nursing courses to measure what level of knowledge nursing professionals are acquiring; List the main phytotherapies used in the basic health units dispensed to the population as part of the implementation of integrative and complementary practices of the SUS and offer a training course on the main phytotherapeutics within the program of integrative and complementary practices of SUS. This research was an exploratory-descriptive and crosssectional study of a qualitative approach in basic health units of the city of Assis and region where the authorization was obtained to list the main phytotherapeutics used in the basic health units dispensed for the as part of the implementation of SUS integrative and complementary practices. An active search of digital data was performed to raise the number of nursing undergraduate courses in the curriculum of FITOTHERAPIA and a literature review was conducted to access bibliographic databases and the electronic databases PubMed, Scirus, Scielo, Revista of Pharmacognosy and Brazilian Journal of Medicinal Plants, from June to October 2017, to search for scientific articles and books, with the following descriptors: Medicinal plants. Nursing. Integrative and complementary practices in SUS. An 8-hour training course will be held for health professionals and interested students at the Assis Educational Foundation (FEMA) at no cost to participants.
